Research Associate, Membrane Engineering
- Work closely with membrane scientists in the development of hollow fiber gas separation membranes.
- Collaborate to develop methods for quality control of polymers, membranes, and small-scale membrane modules.
- Contribute to the development of scalable protocols for membrane manufacturing
- Conduct and optimize membrane permeation testing to characterize gas transport properties.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot gas separation test systems.
- Support performance validation of membrane modules and prototypes.
- Develop and maintain detailed SOPs, laboratory records, and technical reports.
- Perform data acquisition, logging, and analysis to guide product design and optimization.
- Ensure a safe, organized, and efficient laboratory environment, and contribute to continuous process improvements.
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering (or related fields) or equivalent work experience.
- At least 0-2 yrs work experience with hands-on laboratory experience is a must.
- Coursework and laboratory experience in polymer science, chemical separations, and transport phenomena.
- Prior experience with characterization of membrane separation.
- Experience with handling gas cylinders, Swagelok components and fabrication of lab scale membrane modules.
- Course work and hands-on experience in polymer characterization tools including but not limited to TGA, SEM, NMR, GC, GPC.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of chemists, Chemical/Mechanical engineers, and material scientists.
- Self-starter, team player and ability to work in a creative, ambiguous, and fast-paced environment.
