Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist - Geriatric
Location: SNF Center
Salary Range: $44/hr-$55/hr (40 hours/week)
Overview:
This is a full-time position with flexibility for weekend hours. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with the elderly population and a desire to make a positive impact on their lives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations and assessments to determine the communication and swallowing abilities of geriatric patients
- Develop individualized treatment plans to address speech, language, and swallowing disorders
- Implement evidence-based therapy techniques to improve communication and swallowing skills
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and occupational therapists, to provide a holistic approach to patient care
- Monitor and track patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed
- Educate patients and their families on strategies to improve communication and swallowing abilities
- Document all patient interactions and progress in a timely and accurate manner
- Stay up-to-date on the latest research and techniques in the field of speech-language pathology
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Current state license or eligibility for state licensure
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with geriatric patients
- Knowledge of and experience with a variety of communication and swallowing disorders commonly seen in the geriatric population
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Flexibility to work weekends as needed
