Heavy Equipment Mechanic – Maintain and Repair Premium Earthmoving Fleets

Job Overview:

• Company: ATL Construction Inc.

• Salary/Pay Rate: $30.00 to $35.00 per hour plus Year-End Performance Bonus.

• Location: East Bridgewater, MA (Workshop).

• Job/Employment Type: Full-Time.

• Schedule: Monday - Friday (Overtime and weekend work available).

• Mandatory Licenses & Certifications: Class D Vehicle License (CDL Preferred).

The Opportunity: You will play a vital role in keeping our fleet of Mack and Peterbilt trucks as well as Caterpillar, Case and Komatsu equipment operational and safe. This position offers the stability of a workshop-based role within a family-oriented company that values technical expertise and a "get it done" work ethic. For those with significant experience, this role offers a clear path toward a Lead Foreman position.

How You Will Make an Impact:

• Execute comprehensive preventative maintenance (PM) and routine fluid services for tri-axle and dump trailer trucks and heavy earthmoving equipment.

• Diagnose and perform complex mechanical repairs, including brake systems and engine components, to ensure maximum fleet uptime.

• Interpret PM intervals and manufacturer schedules to proactively identify necessary parts, materials, and specialized tooling.

• Document all service activities and work orders legibly in completion logs to maintain accurate equipment history.

• Operate and maintain major shop equipment, including welders, air compressors, and hydraulic jacks, with strict adherence to safety standards.

• Collaborate with the Shop Supervisor to communicate repair progress and meet daily productivity goals.

• Maintain an organized and clean workshop environment to ensure safe and efficient operations for the entire team.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years of professional technician experience working on heavy equipment or diesel trucks.

• Demonstrated ability to perform physical tasks including lifting 75 lbs., bending, and standing for extended periods.

• Proficiency in using various hand tools and major shop equipment.

• Possession of a personal toolset required to perform standard mechanical repairs.

• High School Diploma or GED.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

• 5 years of experience specifically with brands like Mack, Peterbilt, Caterpillar, Case, Doosan or Komatsu.

• Possession of a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).

• Previous experience in a Foreman or leadership capacity within a mechanical workshop.

• Advanced knowledge of welding and fabrication for equipment repair.
