Bookkeeper

Our client, a financial services company based in downtown Boston, is seeking a part-time Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day accounting operations. This role involves maintaining accurate financial records, processing accounts payable and receivable, and reconciling bank statements for a small but growing client base.

The position requires approximately 20-25 hours per week with flexible scheduling options. The Bookkeeper will work closely with the accounting team to ensure financial data is accurate and up to date, supporting month-end close processes and preparing basic financial reports for management review.

Responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger accounts and post journal entries
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
• Reconcile bank and credit card statements monthly
• Prepare and distribute invoices to clients
• Assist with month-end and year-end close procedures
• Generate basic financial reports for management
• Track expenses and maintain organized financial records
• Communicate with vendors regarding billing questions

Requirements

• Associate degree in accounting, finance, or related field
• Minimum 2 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
• Proficiency with QuickBooks or similar accounting software
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Solid understanding of basic accounting principles
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
