Occupational Therapist - Travel Contract
Make a meaningful difference as a travel Occupational Therapist in Newton, MA. Provide occupational therapy services to patients in their place of residence who have impairments, cognitive and/or physical, resulting from injury, disease, disability, or other causes. Collaborate with patients, families, physicians, and allied health professionals to identify needs and coordinate services. Manage technical, environmental, and financial resources while working with diverse patient populations across the North region service area.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited educational program.
- Active Massachusetts Occupational Therapy license required to start the assignment.
- One year of certified home care OT licensure or equivalent home health experience as required by the client.
- Two years of experience in acute care, rehabilitation, or home health as an Occupational Therapist.
- Ability to work with various computer software and familiarity with hand-held patient care devices preferred.
- Strong verbal, written, and electronic communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize work and adapt to changing situations.
- Travel required within the employer’s geographic service area. Ability to travel to multiple client residences within the North region service area.
- BLS certification may be required from AHA or ARC.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous home health caseload management experience.
- Experience working with a wide age range of patients, from pediatric to geriatric populations.
- Experience with electronic documentation systems in home health settings.
Assignment Details
- Shift hours: 08:00–16:30.
- Work days: Days (shift name provided separately).
- Geographic coverage includes communities such as Lynn, Nahant, Saugus, Chelsea, East Boston, Revere, and Winthrop; travel within this service area is required.

Deliver client-centered occupational therapy in patients’ homes to improve independence and daily functioning. Coordinate care across interdisciplinary teams and document outcomes to support continuity of care. Contribute to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives within the home health program.
