Software Engineer
iFIT’s vision is to create the world's most holistic health and fitness platform, integrating all elements of health - physical fitness, mental health, nutrition and active recovery - into a seamless interactive experience. We develop proprietary software that learns and adjusts to the habits of each person as it delivers immersive content that guides them on their own individual fitness journey.
We are looking for an early-career Software Engineer to join iFIT's Engineering and Product organization. In this role you will work closely with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to help build software capabilities across our core business and Tailor. You will write, test, and ship production code under the guidance of experienced engineers, participate actively in agile ceremonies, and grow your skills in a collaborative and fast-moving environment. This is a great opportunity for someone who learns quickly, communicates clearly, and wants to contribute to products used by millions of people.
Key Responsibilities
- Write, test, and ship production code for assigned features and bug fixes under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Participate in code reviews by submitting clean, well-documented pull requests and incorporating feedback quickly.
- Debug and resolve defects across the stack, including on-call and triage support for lower-severity issues.
- Write and maintain automated tests (unit and integration) to keep coverage and reliability standards.
- Collaborate in agile ceremonies including standups, sprint planning, and grooming, providing accurate estimates and status on your work.
- Document your work clearly and communicate progress and blockers proactively with your team.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience (bootcamp + portfolio or 0 to 2 years of professional experience).
- Proficiency in at least one modern language such as Python, Java, TypeScript/JavaScript, Go, or C#.
- Working knowledge of Git and collaborative development including branching, pull requests, and code review.
- Foundational understanding of data structures, algorithms, and relational databases/SQL.
- Familiarity with REST APIs and basic cloud concepts (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Clear written and verbal communication skills and a willingness to ask for help early and document work thoroughly.
Preferred Qualifications
- Internship or project experience contributing to a production codebase.
- Exposure to mobile development (iOS or Android) or web frameworks.
- Experience working with AI/ML APIs or developer tools such as Claude Code or Copilot.
- Interest in fitness, health, or wellness technology.
