Financial Analyst - Wakefield, MA
WANTED: We're seeking an experienced Financial Analyst to provide strategic financial insight and support for our clients. In this client-facing role, you will partner across all levels of the organization to deliver impactful financial planning, reporting, analysis, budgeting, and forecasting. The position offers a dynamic environment where you'll balance independent ownership with strong collaboration to drive results.
Location: We're looking for local candidates to work out of our Wakefield, MA office 3 days/week.
Here's what you'll do:
- Act as a financial controller for Virtual's clients, providing guidance through financial analysis, planning and projections
- Prepare financial reports and forecasts and may present to stakeholders to make informed financial decisions
- Assist with budget creation according to the respective organization's strategic goals and historical data
- Monitor client's A/R and A/P for accurate reporting
- Code data for input to financial systems according to organization's procedures
- Develop financial models and ad hoc reports as needed
- Reconcile bank statements, forecasts, and other financial reports
- Post adjustments and other journal entries at the end of the fiscal period
- Report and analyze actual vs. budget reports to identify and explain variances
- Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis to support the operations
- Maintain records of all financial documents with appropriate supporting material
- May recommend, design, and implement any necessary department controls and procedures
- Coordinate and prepare pertinent information for external accounting firms and auditors, including 990 preparations
As our next Financial Analyst, you will bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent)
- 3-5 years of related work experience across multiple facets of accounting such as A/P, A/R, G/L, Payroll, etc. or in a financial support role providing research and analysis of accounting data
- Proficiency in QuickBooks or similar bookkeeping/accounting software
- Intermediate Excel and Microsoft Office suite skills
- Intermediate level analytical and financial modeling skills
- Ability to analyze and interpret financial statements
- Ability to handle competing priorities in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Strategic and detail-oriented mindset
- Excellent time management and organizational ability
- Proficient presentation, verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to work longer hours when necessary
The target hiring range for this role is $65,000-75,000 USD (annually). The starting base salary will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other job-related factors.
