How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)

The Regional Security Manager (RSM), based at Delta Hub airport in Boston, MA (BOS) is responsible for Security Operations, continuously monitoring potential security vulnerability and implementing mitigation strategies at the assigned hub airport and surrounding Northeast territories. Key programmatic responsibilities include investigating criminal and company policy “Rules of the Road” violations in addition to assessing, responding and mitigating “Real Time" security related incidents and risks to Delta Air Lines operation, people, and assets. Supporting special initiatives, conducting public and secure area risk assessments and mitigation strategy development and implementation, along with security business plan development. The BOS region includes airports in BOS and the Northeast. This position will be based in BOS.

Summary Of Responsibilities (not Comprehensive Of All Tasks)

  • Develop and drive relationships with Federal AirportAuthorities, Federal and Local Law Enforcement Authorities, US Embassy RegionalSecurity Officers and TSA Representatives in order to promote Delta policyobjectives and lead proactive security risk mitigation.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategiesfor TSA compliance failures, operational security events, and loss preventionactivities.
  • Continually assess changes that may affect the station’srisk classification and make adjustments to mitigate risk as necessary.
  • Conduct and/or assist with internal investigations includingassisitng with customer/employee misconduct and other security related eventsas necessary.
  • Assist Delta’s local and regional leadership and their teamswithin area of responsibility (AOR) with loss prevention, compliance,corrective action, fine mitigation, and other security programs.
  • Develop and maintain direct relationships with airportauthorities, local/state and federal law enforcement, and regulatory agencieswithin area of responsibility (AOR), including responding to informationrequests and providing testimony as required.
  • Serve as a security subject matter expert at airport andgovernment meetings.
  • Coordinate emergency response within area of responsibility.
  • Develop, maintain and report strategies and key metrics forarea of responsibility.
  • Practice safety and security conscious behaviors in allaspects of job responsibilities.

What You Need To Succeed (minimum Qualifications)

  • College degree or five to ten years in aviation operationsis preferred.
  • Five to ten years in security, law enforcement or similarbackground is required.
  • Must have good analytical skills and deductive reasoningskills. In addition, relevant work experience should include one or more of thefollowing: loss prevention, compliance, corrective action, fine mitigation,physical surveillance and/or other security programs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of applications andrelated security tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects or tasks and providereliable, high-quality results under stressful situations in a fast-pacedenvironment required.
  • Must be comfortable working with highly sensitive andconfidential information and materials.
  • Strong communication skills both verbally and in writing,communicating at all levels - both internal and external.
  • Must be willing/able to travel to all Delta cities servedworldwide; expected travel at least 50%.
  • Candidates must be available to work off-hours and onweekends as the airline is a 24/7/365 operation.
  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self,others, and personal data.
  • Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
  • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high schoolequivalency.
  • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work inthe United States.
  • It is unlawful inMassachusetts to require or administer a lie detector test as a condition ofemployment or continued employment. An employer who violates this law shall besubject to criminal penalties and civil liability.

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (preferred Qualifications)

  • MA or MS degree or minimum of 10 years in aviation security,risk management, law enforcement or managing a security operations center.
  • Professional Certification or study within the areas ofsecurity management, investigations, risk management, homeland security or ERresponse management from an accredited school or organization.
  • Knowledge of Delta security practices, TSA, CBP, and othergovernment agencies security regulations.
  • Seasoned analytical and deductive reasoning skills with theability to act tactically and strategically, to include developing andmodifying security programs to support business objectives, risks, andcontinuous improvement.
  • Prior experience leading a high energy, diverse team throughinclusion and collaboration.
  • Experience managing risk assessments of criticalinfrastructure, call center, or hotel facilities and implementing strategies toreduce employee and enterprise risk.
  • Working knowledge and experience with IATA's SecurityManagement System (SeMS), its functions and organizational benefits.

Pay Range: $81300.00-$221000.00 annually
