Job Title: Receptionist (contract)
Location: Newton Home Care, 95 Wells Avenue, Suite 320, Newton, MA 02459
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, fully on-site
Duration: Approximately 3 months, with possible extension
Pay Rate: $20-28/hr (based on experience)

Position Overview
Newton Home Care is seeking a professional and energetic Receptionist to join our team on a temporary basis. This role serves as the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and staff, ensuring a welcoming and organized front office environment. The ideal candidate combines strong administrative skills with a positive attitude to support both patients and colleagues effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage general clerical and reception duties, including answering and routing incoming calls.
- Greet visitors and ensure proper sign-in procedures are followed.
- Prepare and coordinate patient materials and admission documentation.
- Act as a liaison between the public and the organization, maintaining professional communication.
- Support ad hoc administrative tasks as requested.
- Occasionally travel to other Mass General Brigham Home Care sites (Beverly, Braintree, or Chelsea) as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of one year of experience in a receptionist or customer service role.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and comfort navigating multiple systems.
- Exceptional telephone and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills, multi-tasking ability, and attention to detail.
- Positive, professional demeanor with a collaborative mindset.
- Must complete full Occupational Health Service (OHS) screenings, including TB, MMR, Varicella, and Flu vaccination.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous healthcare experience.
- Familiarity with switchboard operations and office equipment (copier, fax, headset).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Teams.
- Experience delivering high-quality customer service, particularly with elderly patients.
Working Conditions
- Full-time, on-site in a professional office setting.
- Occasional local travel to other Mass General Brigham Home Care locations may be required.
- Access to a personal vehicle is essential.
