Sales Engineer

Location : Cambridge MA or Orlando FL

MAK Technologies is seeking a Sales Engineer to help support, demonstrate, and add custom capabilities to the MAK ONE software suite. The MAK ONE software environment is a platform to link, simulate, and visualize everything on the planet, from the bottom of the ocean to the top of the atmosphere. MAK models submarines, civilian traffic, military battles, space, goats, and everything in between. Continuing a tradition that stretches back almost over three decades, our tools are used by the world’s top organizations for training, experimentation, mission rehearsal, research and development, and virtual prototyping.

MAK Technologies (MAK) develops commercial off-the-shelf 3D modeling, training, and simulation software that helps users link, simulate, and visualize their world. MAK’s primary users are in the aerospace, defense, and transportation industries, yet its products and services can help customers anywhere modeling and simulation is needed to train, plan, analyze, experiment, prototype, and demonstrate. MAK’s customers include the top ten defense integrators in the world along with hundreds of companies in Defense, Air Traffic Management, Command & Control, and Homeland Security. What YOU will do:  

We are looking for a talented technologist who loves to play with complex networked software environments, can work with our teams to understand the MAK ONE suite, work hand in hand with customers as they build solutions on the MAK ONE suite and enjoy a bit of software engineering. Do you love to play multi-player games? Do you love to play with and explain new technology when it is released? Do you love to discuss complex new technological innovations with others, think about how things work and then argue with others about it when you think it should be better? In This Role, You Will:

• Master the MAK ONE suite of products, including a general understanding of their C++ API.

• Work with engineering and the sales team to design demonstrations, examples, and proof-of-concept configurations for customers.

• Demonstrate and teach the MAK ONE sales suite to customers and at conferences around the world.

• Support customers on site, online, and in classrooms as they build solutions on the MAK ONE suite.

• Collaborate with the MAK engineering team on product designs to better suit customer needs.

• Test with the MAK QA team to ensure MAK products meet customer requirements.
  
  

What YOU need: 

Required : 

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Strong problem-solving skills in complex software environments

• Ability to work semi-independently

• A general understanding of software design

• Basic knowledge of computer networking

• Must be eligible for a Secret clearance

• Intermediate programming experience in a scripting language like Python or Lua

• Understanding of the C++ language and software APIs

Preferred (two or more of the following a plus): 

• Experience with 3D graphics rendering technology

• Familiarity with distributed simulation protocols (HLA, DIS)

• Familiarity with multiplayer game environments

• Experience with wargaming or other statistical modeling of conflict

• Experience with distributed simulation frameworks

• Experience with geospatial systems, terrain databases, or web-mapping technology

• Prior defense or military experience is highly desired
