Director Operations Training (Boston)

Core Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Business, or a related discipline
• 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing operations (e.g., Plant Manager, Director of Operations, or equivalent)
• Proven experience with full P&L ownership and operational decision-making

Preferred Requirements:

• Experience in complex manufacturing environments with high variability and longer production cycles
• Background in multi-site or regional operations leadership roles

The successful candidate will lead the development and execution of hands-on training programs for frontline leaders across manufacturing operations. This role focuses on building real-world leadership capability in plant environments, emphasizing decision-making, problem-solving, financial acumen, and operational execution. The Director will modernize training content, implement scalable learning systems, and partner with operational leadership to strengthen performance across the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver hands-on training programs for frontline leaders, focusing on real-world operational execution and leadership development.
• Coach and develop supervisors, plant leaders, and operations teams in decision-making, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.
• Lead operational training initiatives tied to financial performance, including P&L ownership and cost-impact awareness.
• Modernize training content, tools, and delivery methods, including implementation of scalable learning systems and LMS platforms.
• Partner with plant and operations leadership to support performance improvement, Lean initiatives, and leadership capability building.
• Establish and optimize training frameworks, metrics, and cadence to ensure consistent development across manufacturing sites.
