Server
Job Summary:
Responsible for greeting members, setting up the dining areas, taking and placing orders, carrying trays and plates, serving food and beverages (including alcoholic beverages), complete side work (clean service areas, refill table condiments, tidy menus, restock beverage and server station), clear tables, and keep station areas clean. Supply clean linens, silverware, glassware, and dishes in the dining room. Assist at bar as needed. Pour and mix drinks for members and guests. Assist with set-up, cleaning, opening/closing, stocking/restocking of restaurant/food and beverage area. May perform other reasonable job-related duties as needed.
Qualifications:
Applicants must have experience as a server or bartender in a similar full-service dining operation (Country Club, Golf Clubs, Fine Dining Restaurants, etc.). They must be able to stand for long periods, walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch, twist or reach, and also able to push, pull or lift up to 50 pounds.
All servers should be TIPS, ServSafe and Allergy Awareness certified within 60 days of starting the position. Eastward Ho! will assist in this training for all servers.
Requirements
- Must possess a friendly, helpful personality enabling one to handle Member relations pleasantly and effectively and embrace a team atmosphere with the other food and beverage staff members.
- Employee must be in uniform daily (with belt), including name tag properly displayed, and properly groomed per club standards.
- Maintain work area cleanliness and proper food service safety procedure.
Completes all assigned side work prior to the beginning and ending of shift. Perform all cleaning assignments as assigned. - Serve all meals, ladies first, and by correct seat number.
- Clear all courses once the whole table is finished and clear appropriate silverware and replace as needed.
- Performs table-side service as required such as opening and proper presentation of wine.
- Must have complete knowledge of menu and specials and be skilled at suggestive selling and up-selling and have overall awareness of the needs of the Members and their guests by their body language and facial expressions, etc.
- Knowledgeable about entire property, including all scheduled activities, group functions, food and beverage outlets, entertainment and hours of operation of all activities, events, etc.
- Understands and practices the “15-10-5” rule – when encountering a Guest, at 15 feet, makes eye contact; at 10 feet smiles and at 5 feet says, “good morning/afternoon/evening”. Inquiries about Guest satisfaction whenever possible and thanks the Guest for staying with us.
- Address all members by name whenever possible and take responsibility to learn all members names.
