Job Overview

We are seeking a solution-oriented business partner to join the Legal team at newly public Bob’s Discount Furniture (NYSE:BOBS). This role partners closely with the Chief Legal & Development Officer to provide practical, business-focused legal guidance across the organization. You will support a wide range of legal matters including employment, contracts, compliance, privacy, and dispute resolution, while helping the business scale in a fast-paced, omnichannel retail environment. Ideal candidates are agile, intellectually curious, and comfortable making decisions with imperfect information while balancing risk and business needs.


This person needs to be within commuting distance to our Home Office in Manchester, CT . We are open to the right person working a hybrid schedule (in the office a day or two a week if appropriate).

  • Strategic Legal Partnership: Translate complex legal issues into clear, actionable business guidance

  • Employment & Workforce Law: Advise on employee relations, compliance, and a large, distributed retail workforce

  • Contracts & Commercial Acumen: Draft and negotiate enterprise agreements across technology, supply chain, and marketing

  • Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements while enabling operational agility

  • Privacy & Cybersecurity: Support data protection, digital risk, and evolving privacy regulations

  • Dispute Resolution: Manage litigation and partner with outside counsel to mitigate risk

  • Brand Protection & IP: Oversee intellectual property and brand integrity across digital and physical channels

Preferred Competencies & Skills

  • Experience in retail, omnichannel, or multi-site environments

  • Exposure to supply chain, merchandising, or e-commerce operations

  • Experience supporting high-growth or publicly traded companies

  • Familiarity with privacy frameworks (CCPA/CPRA, PCI DSS)

Minimum Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school

  • 5–8 years of legal experience (in-house or top-tier law firm)

  • 3–5+ years of leadership experience

  • Strong knowledge of employment, contract, corporate, and privacy law

  • Expertise in contract drafting, negotiation, and managing complex litigation

  • Excellent communication, judgment, and business partnership skills

  • Must be at least 18 years old to be considered for employment with Bob’s

Expected Base Pay Not Including Potential Commissions, Incentive, Bonus, etc. Opportunities:

200-275k base salary + yearly bonus target + equity
