Position Overview:

Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer, the Director of Finance supports the oversight of all financial activities of the organization and leads the day‑to‑day financial management functions. The Director of Finance ensures operational excellence across budgeting, financial reporting, financial analysis, internal controls, and compliance; providing strategic financial insight to support organizational goals.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements prepared by the Finance team, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning processes in collaboration with the CFO and senior leadership
  • Deliver actionable financial analysis and strategic insights and recommendations to the CFO and executive leadership
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess financial and operational performance
  • Ensure effective internal controls, risk management practices, and regulatory compliance frameworks are in place
  • Oversee cash flow, liquidity, and capital allocation strategies
  • Partner cross-functionally with service lines and operational leaders to support business initiatives, financial discipline, and cost optimization
  • Ensure compliance with all leases, mortgages, contracts and other agreements requirements and covenants
  • Assist CFO in financial components of contract negotiations and vendor agreements, optimizing cost structures and mitigating financial risk
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and strategic direction to the Finance team without direct involvement in routine transactional work
  • Act as primary liaison with auditors and external advisors, overseeing audit readiness and execution, compliance with all tax filing and cost reporting requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance Accounting, or related field (MBA or CPA required)
  • 12–15+ years of progressive finance experience, including leadership roles
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, forecasting, and analysis
  • Experience overseeing accounting functions through direct reports
  • Healthcare finance experience and knowledge of patient revenue cycles preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and financial systems
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to operate at both strategic and oversight levels

Key Competencies:

  • Strategic thinking and business acumen
  • Ability to delegate effectively while maintaining strong financial oversight
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Executive presence and ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • High integrity and professional ethics

Work Environment & Expectations:

Success Measures:

  • Accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting (through effective oversight)
  • Strength and reliability of financial planning and forecasting
