Your Impact:
As a Senior Ecommerce Engineer (Shopify) at Formlabs, you will play a crucial role in designing, enhancing, and maintaining applications in our digital landscape: eCommerce, CRM, Marketing, and Sales/Service. You will build new features, facilitate new integrations with other business systems, and ensure the performance, stability, and scalability of our digital environment. You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders and peer Systems teams to deliver impactful solutions that support our growth and improve operational efficiency.

This role is based in our Budapest, Hungary office or in our Somerville, Massachusetts, USA office and is a full-time position.
The Job:
- Architect, develop, configure, and customize the back-end Shopify B2B Commerce platform, including creating/enhancing Shopify Apps, Shopify Functions & Extensions, and Shopify APIs. (This is not a front-end Shopify role.)
- Design and develop complex B2B capabilities that go beyond Shopify B2B’s standard features, both inside and outside Shopify B2B, and with relevant integration capabilities throughout Formlabs digital landscape.
- Partner with the headless front-end teams and provide backend expertise, data, and API endpoints that serve blazing-fast, SEO-optimized user experiences.
- Partner with the Salesforce team to architect and develop key integrations, features, and functions to enable sales and service excellence, through both assisted and self-service capabilities.
- Collaborate and drive enterprise integrations between Shopify, Salesforce, ERP, DWH, and other internal/external systems using APIs and middleware.
- Develop and contribute to various other digital roadmap initiatives, such as marketing automation, AI-driven tools for sales and service, and vendor solutions.
- Utilize modern software development practices to deliver well-documented, clean, efficient code: version/branch control, QA practices, CI/CD, deployment keys, etc.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and technical partners to define and understand requirements and translate to scalable technical solutions.
- Contribute to the strategic direction of Formlabs’ digital landscape.
You:
- 5+ years of professional experience as a full-stack engineer building eCommerce or digital platforms for a B2B business
- Proven proficiency and experience in Shopify B2B, Shopify Apps, Shopify Functions & Extensions, and Shopify APIs from a back-end perspective in a headless context (this is not a front-end role)
- Experience and understanding of enterprise integration and the complexities of integrating Shopify, Salesforce, ERP, and DWH in a fast-moving business
- Experience with Salesforce ecosystem and understanding of Apex, Lightning, Flow, Validation rules, Automations, and APIs Skills
- Data savviness: ability to write SQL queries from scratch, and knowledge of data warehouse concepts and tools (i.e. BigQuery, etc.)
- Experience with software development and deployment tools: GitHub, Gearset, Kubernetes, etc.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, and the ability to learn and implement new technologies quickly
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Bonus Points:
- Shopify Verified Skills and Badges (Shopify B2B: Launch and Customization, Shopify B2B: Foundations, Discovery and Solution Design, etc.)
- Salesforce Developer certifications (e.g., Platform Developer I/II), Apex experience.
- Experience with iPaaS middleware or cloud-based integration functions (AWS Lambda/GCP Cloud Functions).
- Ability to effectively leverage AI coding tools
- Familiarity with various ERP, CRM, Marketing Automation, Data Analytics, and Business Intelligence systems and tools.
