Legal Counsel role
We are looking for a talented junior lawyer based in London, Oxford or Cambridge to join our growing Legal team and help to support all aspects of the business across the UK and the US. This will be a varied and interesting role with a primary focus on day-to-day commercial matters and scope over time to advise across the spectrum of legal matters applicable to our rapidly scaling business. It is an excellent opportunity for someone who is keen to lead on day-to-day legal matters with appropriate support from the wider Legal team.
Key responsibilities
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements.
- Providing solution-focussed advice on day-to-day legal queries from colleagues across the business.
- Dealing with new and evolving areas of law.
- English-qualified (or US-qualified) lawyer with at least one year of post-qualification experience (or equivalent US experience).
- Experience of commercial contracting.
- High levels of professionalism and integrity.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive culture within a diverse team.
- Training in a leading law firm.
- Some in-house experience, ideally within a life sciences, healthcare or technology business and / or a venture-backed scale-up.
- Willingness to support the wider Legal team on matters beyond your existing experience (over time and as appropriate), e.g. M&A; governance and other company law matters; incentives; employment law; new product and service development and launches; expansion of the business into new jurisdictions (with appropriate external support).
- Salaries: Our salaries are externally benchmarked annually to ensure you receive compensation that aligns with the market
