Lawn Care Service Technician
Lawn Doctor’s Service Technicians play a key role in providing expert lawn, tree and shrub, and outdoor pest services. Responsibilities include applying treatments, seeding lawns, troubleshooting issues, keeping accurate service records, and ensuring customer satisfaction through clear communication. Objectives
- Provide high-quality lawn and property services, ensuring proper treatment and care.
- Diagnose and treat lawn issues, such as diseases and insect damage, offering expert advice to customers.
- Aerate and overseed lawns to promote health grass growth.
- Maintain customer loyalty through professionalism and attentive service.
- Use a mobile device to manage daily schedules, service reports, and customer information.
- Operate company vehicles and equipment safely and effectively.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Massachusetts driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. bags and operate spreaders and pull hoses.
- Ability to walk or stand for extended periods.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle for extended periods.
Desirable Skills (Not Required)
- Knowledge of lawn care, plant health, or pest control.
- Aeration and overseeding experience.
- Experience in landscaping or labor roles.
- Experience driving trailers.
- Strong time management skills.
- Familiarity with using a mobile device to manage a service schedule.
Licensing
While most of our services eventually require a Massachusetts Pesticide Applicator License, it's not required to apply. With the upcoming aeration and overseeding season, a license is not required and makes for a great opportunity for candidates of all experience levels. For new hires interested in becoming licensed, we provide training, coordinate exam scheduling, and cover the cost of the exam (up to two attempts).
Work Schedule
- Full-time position, Monday through Friday, with overtime opportunities.
- Some Saturday work required during peak seasons (Spring & Fall).
Compensation
- Hourly rate: $20.00-$28.00, based on qualifications, experience, and licensing.
- Eligible for department incentives, production bonuses, and a year-end bonus.
- $1,500.00 signing bonus for new hires with a Massachusetts Pesticide Applicator’s License.
