Position: Skills Instructor (Seasonal or Part-Time)
Program: Day Services or Career Services
Location: Wakefield, MA | Woburn, MA | Beverly, MA
Pay rate: $20.00 per hour – Tiered pay increases based on years of service, pending performance evaluations
Hours: Seasonal Full-Time and Part-time schedules available Summary & Responsibilities
If you're a college student home for the summer and looking to gain experience - great! If you work multiple jobs or are only available certain hours in the day - no problem! If you would like to work on a seasonal or temporary basis - sure! We would love to have you apply and join our team as a Day Program and/or Career Services Skills Instructor! Day Program Skills Instructors are responsible for teaching adaptive daily living skills to Individuals with developmental disabilities through classroom and community services.
- Think creatively and adapt your own interests (art, music, cooking, health & fitness) to develop curriculum to teach individuals new skills
- Mentor Individuals, assess needs, create and implement Individual Support Plans (ISP) to enhance independence
- Plan and oversee community-based activities (movies, picnics, bowling, mini-golf)
- Provide personal care and assistance to individuals consistent with individual needs as they strive to reach their goals
- Provide direct support and assist individuals in gaining community employment by helping them learn specific skills both in-house and in the community, and developing relationships with area businesses
- Create and participate in community-based activities
- Provide personal care and assistance to individuals consistent with individual needs as they strive to reach their goals
- High School diploma required (BA degree in Human Services or related field preferred)
- At least 1 year of experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities is preferred
- A passion and dedication to supporting our people is a must
- Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
- Must pass company background and reference checks
