About the Site Safety Manager Role

We are seeking a dedicated, proactive Site Safety Manager to join our project team. This on-site, full-time role is integral to our mission of building a World Class Safety Culture in construction. As a Site Safety Manager, you will be a key safety advocate, collaborating with field teams, General Contractors, and Owners to ensure regulatory compliance and a safe work environment for all. Your expertise and leadership will help foster a culture where safety is a shared commitment among all stakeholders.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop, implement, and enforce site-specific safety programs, policies, and procedures
  • Ensure all activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA standards
  • Provide safety training on essential topics: fall protection, equipment operation, hazard recognition, and emergency protocols
  • Lead regular safety toolbox talks and meetings to reinforce safe practices
  • Conduct frequent site inspections to identify and mitigate hazards and risks
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, documenting findings, root causes, and corrective actions
  • Foster open communication on safety concerns among workers, supervisors, and contractors
  • Stay up-to-date with safety regulations to ensure site compliance
  • Obtain permits and licenses for safety-related activities as needed
  • Maintain thorough records of safety inspections, training sessions, and corrective actions
  • Collaborate with project managers, general contractors, owners, and regulatory agencies to address safety concerns and resolve any issues
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve safety processes through data analysis and industry best practices

What You Bring:

  • Experience: 3 years in construction safety
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent relevant experience
  • Certifications: CSHO and CHST certifications preferred; MEWPs instructor qualification desired
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam/Adobe, and adept with various operating systems and applications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to quickly establish credibility and build rapport with team members
  • Willingness to give and receive feedback in a constructive manner
  • Technical aptitude and strong attention to detail
  • Effective presentation and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Solid understanding of OSHA 1926 standards and construction compliance requirements

The Site Safety Manager role involves active engagement on construction sites, which requires:

  • Ability to navigate the construction site, including climbing stairs and ladders, and working on uneven terrain in various weather conditions
  • Capacity to stand, walk, and observe on-site activities for extended periods throughout the workday
  • Occasionally lifting and carrying materials, tools, or equipment weighing up to 30 pounds
  • Strong vision and hearing abilities (with or without corrective aids) to identify potential hazards and monitor safety conditions
  • Proficiency in operating safety equipment, tools, and electronic devices such as laptops or tablets for documentation
  • Comfort with working outdoors in changing weather conditions and in proximity to heavy equipment and construction noise
