POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our Implementation Engine team, with a specific focus on building and maintaining the developer ecosystem that powers our extensibility and integrations. In this role, you will work on tools and infrastructure that power the implementation of our product, through our integration data management, configuration, and application deployment frameworks, all powered by our APIs, CLI, SDK, and underlying technologies.

You’ll collaborate closely with product managers, core platform engineers, as well as internal and external stakeholders to help shape a robust and intuitive implementation experience. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with critical functions at the company, and become a meaningful contributor to scaling our business.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Design, develop, and maintain backend services and tools that support the developer ecosystem (e.g., SDK, App Integration Framework, APIs, CLI tools) and build similar capabilities for less technical users via this platform.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define developer-facing experiences and integrate feedback into improvements.
3. Contribute to documentation and tooling that make it easy for anyone to build on top of our platform.
4. Drive quality, reliability, and scalability improvements across our extensibility infrastructure.
5. Uphold and evolve our software engineering standards, including code quality, testing, CI/CD, and security practices.
6. Make an impact on our AI strategy through your contributions to our AI tech stack.
7. Identify the root cause and resolution of critical issues in this functional scope.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

1. At least 5+ years of backend or platform engineering experience, preferably in cloud-based environments (AWS or similar).
2. Experience designing APIs, SDKs, CLIs, or frameworks meant for external developer use.
3. Proven ability to architect scalable, maintainable backend systems (ideally using Node.js or TypeScript).
4. Familiarity with modern backend/cloud technologies such as AWS Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, and CI/CD workflows.
5. Strong technical writing and documentation skills - you understand that user experience is powered by more than just code.
6. Strong problem-solving and debugging skills across distributed systems.
7. Excellent communication and collaboration skills across engineering, product, and external stakeholders.
8. Comfort with taking ownership and ramping up quickly at a venture-backed startup.

BONUS EXPERIENCE

1. Experience building integrations with SAAS products like PLM, DAM, PIM, and ERP systems.
