Overview

OR Inventory Specialist responsibilities include maintaining inventory, stocking and delivery of Med/Surg and Anesthesia supplies throughout the Operating Room par locations, barcoding supplies, and supporting clinical staff while maintaining inventory levels.

Responsibilities

• Maintain inventory, stocking and delivery of Med/Surg and Anesthesia supplies throughout the Operating Room par locations.
• Barcode supplies and run supply reports for the Director, Perioperative Business Services.
• Restock OR par locations with products ordered the previous day.
• Scan each par location daily and transmit orders no later than 3:00 p.m. Mon–Thu, 11:00 a.m. Friday.
• Break down and sort supplies delivered by Owens & Minor; ensure delivery by 10:30 a.m. daily.
• Process and deliver requests within a reasonable timeframe; follow up if needed.
• Restock OR par locations daily (evenings) with items at par levels; rotate stock so newer items are placed in back and shelf stock moved forward.
• Advise Perioperative Business Director or designee of stock outs, backorders and usage changes.
• Rotate products and check expiration dates; remove expired items.
• Maintain OR par locations in a clean, orderly fashion; dispose of cardboard boxes daily.
• Escalate safety issues to Perioperative Business Director or designee; coordinate with Security as needed.
• Perform duties as assigned by the Perioperative Business Director or designee.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or Equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Business preferred.

Experience: Previous experience or Materials/purchasing experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Adheres to ICARE standards; basic computer skills; attention to detail; works well as a team; establishes and maintains good working relationships with anesthesia and OR teams.
