The Pioneer Valley Performing Arts Charter Public School has an immediate opening for a Facilities Technician to help with the day-to-day tasks related to the custodial, logistical and safety operations of the school. Under the supervision of the Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for:

  1. Assisting the Facilities Manager in monitoring school safety policies, protocols, and procedures.
  2. Assisting main office personnel with any designated tasks needed.
  3. Assisting with and immediately responding to building emergencies as directed while on shift.
  4. Assisting with building and grounds maintenance and general repairs as directed.
  5. Daily pick up of school breakfasts and lunches from off-site and transport to school.
  6. Supporting lunch staff and helping serve school lunches to students as needed.
  7. Maintaining food storage area and adhere to all food safety codes.
  8. Daily outdoor traffic/bus duty.
  9. Monitoring the main office/ school building after school is dismissed. (student activity, late student pick-ups, visitors, answering phones and doors, checking school and grounds before the end of your shift to ensure students are gone or where they need to be.)
  10. Coordinating with cleaners and other staff about supervision of students, after-school functions, closing, and securing building for the night.
  11. Helping set up for after-school functions as needed.
  12. Any other task assigned by the Facilities Manager or designated administrator.
Experience, education, skills, abilities, qualifications

  1. Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  2. Strong organizational skills.
  3. Strong attendance record.
  4. 21 years old or older
  5. Ability to lift a minimum of 75 lbs.
  6. Ability to work in cold, hot, or wet outdoor environments.
  7. Flexible hours & Additional hours as needed
  8. CORI and Fingerprint Background Check.
  9. Ability to think and react quickly, professionally, and appropriately.
  10. Basic computer knowledge. (Microsoft, Google, PowerSchool, etc.) and ability to learn more systems.
  11. Self-motivated and team player.
  12. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation to work.
  13. Preferred - Serve-safe, First Aid, CPR, and AED certified or the ability to obtain
  14. Preferred - Prior experience working with middle and high school students.

Other Information/Instructions:

Salary Range: $20-$23 per hour. This is a 40 hour per week position working Monday thru Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm that follows the calendar year schedule (12 months).
