We have embarked on an exciting journey of modernizing and transforming our US and Canada payroll functions, engaging a third-party consulting firm to uncover opportunities and develop a detailed roadmap. By rethinking structures, harmonizing processes, and automating key tasks with new technologies, we intend to create a simpler and more efficient operating model encouraging collaboration and flexibility for the payroll function to meet the evolving and growing needs of BCG.

This role is responsible for moderate to complex-level Tax accounting/withholding, reporting, analysis, and audit activities to ensure the accurate and timely reporting of financial results for internal and external purposes, and to help provide work direction to team associates. This role is the technical and functional subject matter tax expert and continually works with the team to identify opportunities for improvement and implements solutions.

What You'll Do

  • Analyzing and consistently take corrective steps on queries related to tax

  • Calculating retroactive tax, gross to net calculations including tax withholding

  • Reviewing, balancing and release W-2 files

  • Tax Data Integrity Assurance for tax filing

  • Processing Improvement recommendations and implementations

  • Processing W-2 Corrections and reissues in accordance with IRS regulations

  • Investigate and resolve tax notices, discrepancies, and employee inquiries with speed and accuracy

  • Providing client support for Escalated Tax and Accounting issues

  • Maintaining employee master tax data including tax data integrity assurance activities

  • Partner closely with payroll, HR, and finance to ensure proper tax setup and ongoing compliance

  • Investigate and resolve multi-state tax notices, discrepancies, and employee inquiries with speed and accuracy

  • Providing problem (SR) resolution support for tax related issues

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for payroll tax-related inquiries, managing a high-volume inbox with timely, accurate, and professional responses

  • Reviewing Payroll Tax error reports and queries related to Tax

  • Validating and balancing of tax data on a recurring basis

  • Reconciling payroll related balance sheet accounts to tax filings

Responsibility Areas:

  • Accountable for partnering with the internal teams to deliver client service with quality

  • Accepted accounting principles and/or domestic tax code/law

  • Proactively looks for resolution of potential service delivery issues

  • Provides reports to internal teams as required

What You'll Bring

  • Associates degree or comparable knowledge in payroll-related field
  • Minimum 3 years Payroll Tax experience
  • Strong attention to detail and execution
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills
  • Strong business acumen, e.g. ability to interpret and apply financial data/information to business decisions
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong business partnering skills
  • Detail-oriented, organized and capable of prioritizing workload to complete multiple tasks and meet aggressive deadlines
  • Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively as a member of a team
  • Ability to work independently and apply sound judgment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Windows, Excel and PowerPoint
  • ADP Smart Compliance experience is a plus

Total compensation for this role includes base salary, annual discretionary performance bonus, contributions to BCGs Profit Sharing and Retirement Fund ( PSRF ), and a market leading benefits package described below.

Some local governments in the United States require job postings to include a reasonable estimate of base compensation. We expect your total annualized compensation to be approximately the following:

  • In Boston the base salary is be tween $98,000- $115,000 (USD) ; placement within this range will vary based on experience and skill level
  • In Atlanta the base salary is between $86,000- $101 ,000 (USD) ; placement within this range will vary based on experience and skill level
  • In other locations, competitive pay is commensurate with the role and geography
  • Annual discretionary performance bonus between 0-12%
  • 5% Profit Sharing Retirement Fund ( PSRF ) contribution, increasing to 10% after two years of service. Contributions are vested immediately and there is no waiting period
