The Nursing Unit Secretary plays a vital role in supporting multiple units by managing patient registration, coordinating appointments, and maintaining seamless communication. This position involves frequent patient contact and requires strong organizational skills to handle scheduling, record keeping, and phone management efficiently. Working independently, the Nursing Unit Secretary utilizes Electronic Health Records (EHR) software to ensure accurate and timely information flow within the unit.
Responsibilities
- Manage patient registration and appointment scheduling
- Coordinate communication between patients, staff, and medical personnel
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records using Electronic Health Records
- Handle incoming phone calls professionally and promptly
- Support multiple nursing units with administrative tasks
- Facilitate smooth patient flow and service delivery
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
- Excellent telephone etiquette
- Strong multitasking abilities
- Effective communication skills
