Contract Position | Full Time | Overnight Shift
Amergis Healthcare Staffing is proud to partner with a respected correctional facility in Billerica, MA, to support essential nursing services within a secure and medically supervised environment. We are currently seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) with correctional or psychiatric experience to join the team on a full-time contract. This role offers consistent overnight hours within a structured clinical setting, providing care to an underserved population and collaborating closely with experienced onsite medical staff.
Position Overview
As the correctional RN, you will provide direct nursing care to incarcerated individuals, perform comprehensive assessments, assist with medication administration, and support emergency response needs. This position plays a key role in promoting safety, stability, and continuity of care within a correctional environment.
Location: Billerica, MA
Start Date: March 9th
Contract Length: 6 months to start, with strong potential for extension
Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday, 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Hours: Full time
Pay Rate: $60/hr local | $2,650 weekly travel stipend available
A thorough orientation will be provided to support a smooth transition into the correctional setting.
Key Responsibilities

Administer medications and assist with medical treatments

Conduct triage, risk assessments, and respond to medical emergencies

Apply surgical dressings and bandages as needed

Monitor and document vital signs accurately and timely

Collect specimens for diagnostic testing

Document all care in accordance with facility procedures

Report patient reactions and changes in medical condition

Provide patient education and support discharge or transfer planning

Foster a safe, therapeutic, and professional care environment

Collaborate with physicians and perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
-
Active MA RN license or proof of application
-
Minimum 1 year of correctional healthcare or psychiatric experience

Current CPR certification
-
Current health certificate (as required by state or contract regulation)
