Superintendent-Heavy Civil Construction

Kimmel and Associates
Boston, MA

About the Company

The company is a highly respected General Contractor and Construction Management firm. With a strong financial foundation, a collaborative culture, and a clear strategic growth plan, the company is expanding its footprint in water and wastewater infrastructure. The company is known for its commitment to excellence, employee development, and long-term career advancement opportunities.

About the Position

This is a hands-on field leadership role for a high-performing Superintendent who thrives on driving execution, building strong subcontractor relationships, and delivering complex infrastructure projects.

You will lead day-to-day construction operations on water and wastewater treatment facility projects (and occasionally commercial projects), ensuring work is planned, coordinated, and executed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership in the field, influence outcomes directly, and grow within a company committed to long-term career development.

The company is seeking a Superintendent who leads with presence—not volume—builds trust with crews, proactively solves problems, and consistently drives projects forward through planning, coordination, and accountability.

Requirements

Experience & Field Leadership

  • 5+ years of Superintendent experience in water infrastructure or similar heavy construction environments
  • Proven ability to lead field operations, subcontractors, and daily execution on complex projects
  • Strong leadership style rooted in collaboration, accountability, and proactive communication
  • Demonstrated ability to plan work effectively, manage milestones, and maintain project flow

Technical Knowledge

  • Experience with water/wastewater systems including process piping, pumps, clarifiers, chemical feed systems, and related infrastructure
  • Working knowledge across civil, structural, architectural, and MEP systems
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, shop drawings, and coordination plans
  • Experience with plant startup, commissioning, and regulatory compliance

Planning & Execution

  • Skilled in pull planning, 4-week/6-week look-ahead scheduling, and real-time plan adjustments
  • Ability to lead daily huddles, coordinate trades, and ensure subcontractor readiness
  • Strong understanding of site logistics, safety standards, and environmental compliance
  • Proficiency in tracking production, managing field documentation, and driving quality control

Benefits

  • Competitive base salary ($90K–$155K)
  • Performance-based bonuses tied to company and project success
  • 401(k) with employer matching
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Life insurance
  • Paid time off
