Position: Accounting Clerk Location: Belchertown, MA Job Type: contract (potential for extension) Key Responsibilities: Perform data entry and maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR). Process invoices, reconcile bank statements, and assist with general ledger maintenance. Support month-end and year-end close processes by preparing journal entries and account reconciliations. Respond to vendor and client inquiries in a timely and detail oriented manner, resolving discrepancies as needed. Collaborate with the finance team to improve and streamline accounting procedures. Maintain organized documentation of financial transactions and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.Proven experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role; familiarity with AP/AR is highly desirable. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar platforms) is a plus. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial reporting. Strong organizational and time-management skills to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills to interact with vendors, clients, and internal teams. A high school diploma is required; an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
