Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid – 3 days onsite per week)
Company Stage: Series A Healthcare Technology Startup
Office Type: Hybrid
Salary: $155,000 – $175,000 base + competitive equity
Company Description
Our client is a fast-growing healthcare technology startup transforming how patients access outpatient care. They’re building a modern platform that makes it delightfully simple to find, book, and pay for high-quality medical services — all with transparent pricing and seamless coordination between clinicians, patients, and insurance providers.
Founded by experienced operators and backed by top-tier investors, this team is rethinking how care is delivered — with a strong focus on usability, scalability, and clinical integration.
What You Will Do
As a Software Engineer, you’ll help design and scale products that simplify access to care for patients and providers. You’ll work across the stack (or specialize in frontend) while collaborating directly with clinical and operations teams to understand workflows and build meaningful solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain features across pricing, booking, and payment systems.
- Collaborate with clinicians and operations staff to translate real-world workflows into intuitive software.
- Integrate with complex healthcare systems including EHRs, insurance platforms, and lab providers.
- Write clear documentation, run QA for your features, and ensure smooth deployments.
- Thrive in an early-stage environment where engineers take ownership across product, data, and infrastructure.
Ideal Candidate Background
- 2–6 years of experience as a full-stack or frontend engineer.
- Proven ability to operate in fast-paced, ambiguous environments (prior startup experience is a plus).
- Strong understanding of modern web technologies — experience with frameworks like Next.js , React , or Ruby on Rails is highly valued.
- Comfortable owning projects end-to-end, from product discussions to deployment.
- Excellent communication skills and collaborative mindset.
- Mission-driven and excited to improve access to healthcare (no prior healthcare experience required).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience integrating third‑party APIs or working with complex data models.
- Familiarity with AWS , PostgreSQL , and scalable backend systems.
- Interest in product design or data‑driven decision‑making.
- Background in startups or small teams where autonomy and cross‑functional work were key.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base Salary: $155,000 – $175,000
- Equity: Competitive startup stock options package
- Benefits: Comprehensive health coverage, 401(k), and generous PTO
- Hybrid work model (3 days/week in Boston)
- Collaborative, mission‑driven culture with opportunities for growth and ownership
Why Join
This is a rare opportunity to join an early‑stage healthcare startup at a pivotal moment — where your engineering work directly impacts patient access to quality care. You’ll collaborate with clinicians, product leaders, and other engineers to build technology that truly matters.
