Under direct supervision performs a variety of routine clerical duties in accordance with specific instructions and established work procedures.

I. Major Responsibilities:

  • May use office equipment or computers to maintain or produce basic information in established formats, or to complete forms.
  • Files and retrieves files, records, and documents.
  • Copies, sorts, collates, assembles, scans and/or distributes, documents, mail and other written materials.
  • Utilizes email, computer software and/or other applications.
  • Directs phone calls to appropriate persons, and records and relays phone messages.
  • Greets visitors, provides basic information to direct them to the appropriate person or destination.
  • Assists others with projects.
  • Participates in performance improvement initiatives and demonstrates the use of quality improvement in daily operations.
  • Ensures compliance with health and satiety requirements, with regulatory agencies such as DPH, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Complies with established departmental policies, procedures and objectives.
  • Attends variety of meetings, conferences, seminars as required or directed.
  • Demonstrates use of Quality Improvement in daily operations.
  • Complies with all health and safety regulations and requirements.
  • Respects diverse views and approaches, demonstrates Standards of Respect, and contributes to creating and maintaining an environment of professionalism, tolerance, civility and acceptance toward all employees, patients and visitors.
  • Maintains, regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
  • Performs other similar and related duties as required or directed.

II. Position Qualifications:

License/Certification/Education:

Required:

  • High school student or graduate.

Required:

  • Basic communication, reading, writing, and math skills and the ability to utilize computers for basic data entry duties, clerical accuracy.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Ability to work well with others.

Preferred:

Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.

Department-specific competencies, including age-specific competencies and their measurements, will be developed and maintained in the individual departments. The competencies will be maintained and attached to the departmental job description. Responsible managers will review competencies with position incumbents.

III. Physical Demands And Environmental Conditions:

Work is considered sedentary. Position requires work indoors in a normal office environment.
