School-Based RN Needed!

Contract Position | 35 Hours/Week | School Hours

Position Overview

As the 1:1 school-based RN, you will provide direct nursing care and diabetes management for a 9-year-old student enrolled at Community Therapeutic Day School. You will monitor blood glucose levels, administer insulin as appropriate, and collaborate closely with school staff to ensure the student’s comfort, safety, and participation in daily activities.

Location: Lexington, MA

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Length: end of school year (potential to extend)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Pay Rate: $52/hr

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 nursing care for a 9-year-old student newly diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes
• Monitor blood glucose and respond to hypo/hyperglycemia
• Administer insulin per plan of care
• Support the student throughout the school day in classroom and school activities
• Communicate with teachers, staff, and caregivers as needed
• Maintain simple documentation (no formal EMR/charting system used)
• Ensure safe transitions and daily routines within a therapeutic day school setting

Qualifications

• Active MA RN License
• Diabetes management experience strongly preferred
• Pediatric or school-based experience a plus
• Compassionate, patient, and comfortable working in a 1:1 setting
