The Senior Labor Relations Specialist serves as the organization’s lead representative in labor relations matters, including collective bargaining, grievance resolution, arbitration, and union engagement. This role requires deep expertise in labor law, negotiation strategy, and employee relations, with the ability to independently manage complex cases and represent the organization at the highest levels of union interaction.Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Collective Bargaining Leadership
Act as first-chair negotiator in union contract negotiations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and compliance with labor laws.
Develop bargaining strategies, proposals, and counterproposals in collaboration with executive leadership.
Lead negotiation teams, coordinate subject matter experts, and manage communication flow during bargaining sessions.
Grievance & Arbitration Management
Serve as lead representative in grievance hearings and arbitration proceedings.
Investigate disputes, prepare case files, and present arguments before arbitrators
Provide guidance to HR and management on grievance handling and contract interpretation.
Union Relations
Build and maintain constructive relationships with union representatives while protecting organizational interests.
Act as the primary point of contact for union leadership on labor relations issues.
Monitor union activities and assess potential impacts on operations.
Policy & Compliance
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws (e.g., NLRA, FMLA, FLSA).
Draft and update labor relations policies, procedures, and training materials.
Advise leadership on labor law developments and their implications.
Strategic Advisory
Provide executive leadership with insights on labor trends, workforce sentiment, and negotiation outcomes.
Partner with HR and operations leaders to align labor relations strategy with organizational objectives.
Qualification
Demonstrated first-chair experience in collective bargaining
Progressive Labor Relations experience

The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as whether the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, the geographic area in which the work will be performed, market pay rates in that area, and the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.
