VP, Finance & Operations

3LED Group – Woburn, MA (HQ)

Full-Time | Reports to: CEO

Overview:

3LED Group is a rapidly scaling portfolio of lighting, photonics, and advanced manufacturing companies — including Fusion Optix, Xico Lighting, LEDSupply, ProLume, LUXDrive (LEDdynamics), and FlexGrid Systems. Our brands span specification lighting, e-commerce, engineered LED solutions, and advanced optical technologies. As we integrate these businesses into a high-performance, innovation-driven group, we are seeking a VP, Finance & Operations who can do far more than report the numbers — we need someone who can drive the numbers.

This is a rare opportunity to architect the financial and operational foundation of a growing multi-entity platform, working directly alongside the CEO to shape strategy, improve performance, and elevate execution across all brands and manufacturing locations in MA and VT.

If you are a strategic operator with deep financial mastery — someone who sees opportunity in complexity and thrives in environments where strong systems are being built — this role offers extraordinary impact and career runway.

Why This Role Matters:

3LED is entering a pivotal stage: brand integration, manufacturing expansion, new product platforms, and a shift toward a unified group operating model. The VP, Finance & Operations will:

  • Build disciplined reporting, costing, forecasting, and operational alignment.
  • Provide financial clarity to support growth and investment.
  • Improve performance across multiple facilities and product families.
  • Lead the systems and processes that professionalize the group.
  • Act as a critical strategic partner to the CEO and GMs.

This role will be central to transforming 3LED from a multi-brand collection into a cohesive, scalable platform.

What You Will Lead:

Financial Leadership & FP&A:

  • Own group financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting across all divisions.
  • Build KPI dashboards, performance analytics, and product-level margin visibility.
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated reporting.
  • Evaluate capital investments, manufacturing expansions, and strategic initiatives.
  • Guide pricing strategy, gross margin improvement, and cost discipline.

Operational Leadership & Performance Improvement:

  • Establish unified S&OP processes: demand planning, capacity planning, work orders, forecasting.
  • Drive operational KPIs and performance reviews for all brands and facilities.
  • Improve inventory accuracy, cost structure, and throughput across the group.
  • Partner with GMs and operations leads to enhance reliability, quality, and delivery.
  • Lead or support ERP/MRP implementation and optimization efforts.

Accounting, Controls & Reporting Systems:

  • Manage and mentor the Group Controller and accounting team.
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly close and consolidated group financials.
  • Implement and enforce a unified chart of accounts across all divisions.
  • Strengthen internal controls, compliance, and audit readiness.
  • Oversee treasury, cash management, tax preparation, and banking relationships.

Cross-Divisional Leadership:

  • Provide functional oversight to the GMs of Fusion Optix, Xico Lighting, LEDSupply, LUXDrive, ProLume, and FlexGrid.
  • Ensure consistent costing, inventory control, work order processes, and data integrity.
  • Bridge Finance, Operations, Engineering, and Sales to ensure cohesive execution.
  • Create alignment across diverse business models (manufacturing, e-commerce, custom, standard).

What You’ll Build in Your First Year:

Within 12 months, you will have:

  • Implemented group-level forecasting, budgeting, and KPI alignment.
  • Established standardized costing and margin reporting.
  • Improved inventory accuracy and reduced operational variability.
  • Formalized S&OP and workflow discipline across all brands.
  • Strengthened internal controls and financial reporting cadence.
  • Enhanced cross-functional communication and decision-making.
  • Become a trusted strategic partner to the CEO and leadership team.

You Will Thrive Here If You:

  • Love building systems rather than inheriting them.
  • Are energized by multi-brand, multi-site complexity.
  • Move seamlessly between the boardroom, the factory floor, and the financial model.
  • Are comfortable challenging assumptions with data.
  • Want to shape the operational and financial backbone of a growing platform.
  • Thrive in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment.
  • Communicate clearly, directly, and with purpose.
  • Enjoy partnering with GMs, engineers, operations, and sales alike.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • 8–15+ years progressive finance experience with exposure to operations.
  • Strong FP&A capability with hands-on forecasting, budgeting, and KPI development.
  • Deep experience in cost accounting, inventory valuation, and multi-entity consolidation.
  • Prior experience supporting or leading manufacturing operations or supply chain.
  • Experience improving financial processes, systems, and controls.
  • Demonstrated success driving operational improvements using data.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills across technical and commercial teams.

Preferred:

  • Experience in PE-backed companies, roll-up platforms, or multi-site manufacturing.
  • Exposure to ERP/MRP systems (NetSuite, Epicor, Odoo, etc.) and Salesforce.
  • MBA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent (not required).
  • Experience leading transformations, integrations, or operational turnarounds.

Compensation:

A competitive executive-level compensation package will be offered, including a base salary commensurate with experience, performance-based bonuses, and a comprehensive benefits program. Long-term incentives or performance equity may be available for exceptional candidates who play a key role in the growth and success of the 3LED Group.
