Downstream Process Engineer
A leading pharmaceutical company in the greater Boston area is searching for a dynamic Downstream Specialist to drive, optimize, and safeguard our purification operations. In this role, you won't just watch the process-you will own it, troubleshoot it, and continuously elevate it to ensure we deliver life-changing drug substances to patients. We are seeking candidates with a B.S. 6+ years of relevant industry experience (downstream PD or MSAT preferred) or a M.S 3+ years of relevant industry experience (downstream PD or MSAT preferred). education: Masters responsibilities:
- Support and optimize critical downstream unit operations, including Capture steps, advanced chromatography column performance, filtration systems (NF, UF/DF), and final drug substance formulation/bottling.
- Keep your finger on the pulse of production. Monitor, trend, and evaluate process data to ensure our downstream operations are running at peak efficiency.
- Be the go-to technical expert on the floor, diagnosing and resolving complex process issues as they arise.
- Collaborate directly with manufacturing teams to spearhead initiatives that improve process consistency, robustness, and yield.
- Support our Quality System by authoring clear, well-documented technical assessments for process deviations and investigations.
- Drive continuous compliance by assisting with robust CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions) and change control implementations.
- Participate in an on-call rotation, providing the critical technical safety net that keeps manufacturing running smoothly.
