Senior Estimator – Heavy Civil / Infrastructure Construction

Position Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Estimator to lead the preparation of bids on complex, large-scale heavy civil projects. This role will oversee estimating teams, drive pre-bid strategy, and play a critical role in securing new project opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the full estimating process for heavy civil, highway, bridge, and marine projects
• Oversee quantity takeoffs, cost analysis, and pricing for all direct and indirect costs
• Manage and mentor estimators working on assigned bids
• Develop and maintain pre-bid schedules and bid strategies
• Ensure subcontractor and vendor coverage, including DBE requirements
• Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing
• Ensure all bid documents accurately reflect addenda and project requirements
• Maintain integrity and organization of all bid files and documentation
• Collaborate closely with senior leadership through bid review and submission
• Support project turnover, budgeting, and subcontractor selection on awarded work

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related construction field
• 5+ years of experience estimating complex heavy civil projects (highway, bridge, marine)
• 3+ years in a supervisory or lead estimating role on projects $50M+
• Design-build project experience strongly preferred
• Proficient with HCSS (required) and strong computer skills
• Experience with computerized takeoff and estimating systems
