Senior Financial Analyst Projects, Budgeting and Forecasting
Position Summary:
Commonwealth Electrical Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Analyst to join our Finance team. This role focuses on project financial management, budgeting, and forecasting, ensuring accurate reporting and proactive cost control. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical and organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements:Essential Functions/Position Responsibilities:
Manage monthly cost-to-complete processes for assigned projects.
Drive integration and financial synergy across portfolio companies, contributing to operational and financial success.
Serve as cost manager for major projects, ensuring alignment with financial targets and early identification of potential overruns or cost fade, enabling timely corrective actions (e.g., personnel adjustments, change orders, scope modifications).
Prepare and maintain monthly Work-in-Progress (WIP) files and reconcile to the General Ledger.
Maintain full visibility and control of all financial movements within projects, including revenue and cash flow, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Oversee economic and financial management of projects in accordance with company policies and profitability goals.
Collaborate closely with Project Managers to meet deadlines and financial objectives.
Participate in project management meetings and provide financial insights.
Develop project budgets and forecasts in partnership with project managers.
Monitor project performance and validate ETC/EAC against plans and actual expense rates.
Compile monthly cost and revenue projections across active projects to produce a Thirteen-Week Cash Flow report.
Support monthly financial close processes and procedures.
Play a key role in budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analysis by project and department (including T&M projects).
Ensure effective project change management and financial impact assessment.
Qualifications & Preferences:
Education: BS in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
Experience: Minimum 5 years in project controlling, preferably within the construction or trade industry.
Strong knowledge of project management software and ERP systems with job costing functionality.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, communicate effectively, and adapt to change.
Experience in project environments with a focus on financial oversight and reporting.
Compensation details: 120000-150000 Yearly Salary
