Full-time Paralegal / Ad ministrative Assistant – High-Exposure Role at Executive Advisory Law Practice, Newton, MA

Chinitz Law LLC, a law practice located in the heart of Newton Lower Falls, is looking to hire a full-time paralegal to work alongside Attorney Mike Chinitz. This position is 9 AM to 5 PM and on-site, with the possibility of hybrid flexibility after 3-4 months.

Chinitz Law LLC is an employment and business practice focused on executive advocacy and mobility, advising senior professionals through complex career transitions and representing both executives and companies in high-stakes disputes. The founder, Mike Chinitz, is a highly respected advisor/attorney with over three decades of experience (including big law). Mike is a longtime Massachusetts Super Lawyer and a Boston Magazine Top Lawyer.

This role offers the opportunity to work directly with Mike in a high-exposure environment with meaningful mentorship and hands-on involvement in client matters. The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, highly motivated, and eager to learn. This position is best suited for someone considering law school who is seeking substantive, real-world legal experience and is prepared to make a minimum one-year commitment.

Competitive compensation will be offered based on experience, starting at $26 per hour.

Responsibilities include

• Track, maintain and help to coordinate paper and electronic document collections, reviews and productions, and client files. Calendar and maintain deadline-driven documents.
• Perform public searches, including court dockets, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission EDGAR database, and others.
• Assemble and provide quality checks on exhibits and appendices for court filings and/or hearings, depositions and trials. Utilize Adobe to assist and prepare e-binders and hard copy binders for case and deal teams.
• Prepare for and attend client meetings, mediations, calls and with opposing counsel.
• Prepare documents, such as pre-suit demand letters, PowerPoint presentations, Personnel Record Requests. etc.
• Utilize legal research software such as Westlaw Precision, Practical Law, Westlaw and AI for case retrieval and citation reference.
• Coordinate and participate in the proofreading of internally and externally prepared contracts, emails, and other documents.
• Carry out all phases of legal billing in legal billing software. Compiles, manages, and executes attorney billing edits and finalization and posting of invoices.
• Perform a variety of other accounting and bookkeeping duties.
• Schedule calls and maintain attorney’s calendar.
• Prepare, send, and track client fee agreements to ensure timely execution and proper documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or graduating senior) with strong academic performance
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Self-starter with the ability to take initiative and work independently
• Willingness to commit to the position for a minimum of two years

Ideal candidates may also have

• Prior internship or work experience in a legal, business, or professional setting
• Familiarity with legal research tools ( e.g, Westlaw or similar platforms) (academic or professional)
• Experience with client-facing roles
• Demonstrated interest in the legal field and intention to pursue law school
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 Suite, ADOBE, and Outlook
