VIOLIN INSTRUCTOR
Are you passionate about sharing the joy of music? The Concord Conservatory of Music (CCM) seeks a talented and enthusiastic violin/fiddle Instructor to join our vibrant community music school in the Metro-west Boston area.
At CCM, we nurture students of all ages and abilities in a welcoming and inclusive environment. Since our founding in 2005, we've been dedicated to providing exceptional instruction through private lessons, group classes, and ensemble programs.
SCHEDULE: two afternoon/evening teaching days per week, including a Saturday if possible. A morning session is also available.
JOB SUMMARY
This instructor has the opportunity to take over an existing violin studio within CCM. The instructor must be adept at teaching both children and adults. Faculty members are responsible for delivering high-quality music education, managing their studios, and contributing to departmental initiatives. Responsibilities also include attending faculty meetings and supporting CCM’s mission. The ideal candidate is an experienced educator with a passion for community-based music education and the ability to teach a wide range of styles, including folk and bluegrass.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Teach engaging private lessons for students at various skill levels, from beginner to advanced.
Lead ensemble classes with a focus on collaborative musicianship and stylistic interpretation.
Develop lesson plans and tailor instruction to accommodate diverse learning styles.
Participate in faculty recitals, community outreach programs, and conservatory events.
Support CCM’s mission by attending occasional workshops, student recitals, and faculty meetings.
Fulfill general faculty duties as outlined in the Faculty Handbook.
Qualifications:

Experience and enthusiasm for teaching students of all ages and skill levels.
Expertise in diverse musical styles and genres.
Excellent communication skills, particularly when working with parents and advanced students.
A commitment to fostering a collaborative and professional learning environment.
Preferred qualifications: M.A. in music with an emphasis on pedagogy and performance, 4+ years of studio teaching experience

Concord Conservatory of Music is a nonprofit music school serving Concord, MA, and 16 surrounding communities. We are a creative and supportive community of musicians of all ages and levels. Opportunities to perform, individually and in groups, challenge students and build their sense of confidence and pride. Community-based programming invites others to experience and appreciate not just the music, but also the joy of creating it.
CCM offers a rigorous education for musicians at all levels, for ages one and up. Over 500 students participate in weekly private and/or group lessons, ensembles, and workshops. The school’s faculty includes 37 professional music educators teaching 17 instruments and voice. CCM also presents approximately six concerts a year for the public. To reach even more community members, CCM provides student performances in the community, programs for individuals with unique needs, including Singing with Parkinson’s Chorus, and music classes specifically for children with developmental disabilities.
