Behavioral Health RN Job Details

• Location: Holyoke, MA 01040 – Western Massachusetts healthcare jobs in a scenic, vibrant community
• Facility Setting: Behavioral Health Division (Adult, Geriatric, Pediatric Psychiatric Units)
• Assignment Type: Locum tenens / Travel RN contract
• Start Date: August 25, 2025
• End Date: November 24, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shifts: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM); every other weekend required
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1800–$1840
• Electronic Health Record: Cerner EHR
• Dress Code: Blue scrubs

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing)
• BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in inpatient psychiatric or behavioral health nursing
• Experience working with both adult and pediatric behavioral health populations
• Ability to float between behavioral health units as needed

Behavioral Health RN Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care utilizing the nursing process (assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation)
• Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Monitor, assess, and communicate changes in patients’ clinical conditions to physicians, supervisors, and healthcare team members
• Participate in discharge planning and deliver patient and family education on mental health topics
• Care for diverse patient populations, including adults, geriatrics, and pediatric patients (ages 5-17)
• Manage and support patients with behavioral health diagnoses such as schizophrenia, depression, bipolar disorder, substance use disorder, and anxiety disorders
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the Cerner electronic health record system
