Project Management Co-op Fall 2026
Position Summary
The Office of Strategy, Implementation, and Efficiency (OSIE) supports the delivery of strategic initiatives, performance tracking, and cross-divisional coordination across MassDOT. The Project Management Co-Op will assist in coordinating projects, tracking progress, and supporting day-to-day operational and project management activities.
This co-op position is designed as a structured learning experience that provides hands-on exposure to public-sector project management, including project planning, stakeholder coordination, and performance tracking. The co-op will work closely with OSIE leadership and project managers on active transportation initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Support OSIE and project managers in tracking project milestones, schedules, and deliverables
- Attend project meetings and prepare clear meeting summaries, notes, and action items
- Assist in maintaining project documentation, dashboards, and status reports aligned with OSIE tracking practices
- Conduct research and analysis on transportation projects, strategic initiatives, and operational improvements
- Coordinate with internal staff across MassDOT divisions to gather updates and support cross-functional efforts
- Assist with tracking materials, timelines, or other project-related logistics
- Perform additional administrative or project support tasks as assigned

- Practical experience using tools such as Excel, reporting trackers, and dashboards
- Insight into transportation planning, policy, and strategic project delivery
Work Environment
This position offers a hybrid work schedule, consisting of both in-office and remote workdays, subject to operational needs.
