Job Summary: This role is responsible for supporting the assigned AAP released product lines and customers, which includes creating product change requests (CR/CO), assisting customers and AAP factories with product questions and issues, creating and updating 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, completion of all required documentation, and completing design modifications and cost savings projects.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Support our released products in the medical marketplace.
- Support the product change request/notice process and communicate changes to our customers.
- Assist our customers and factories by answering product questions and resolving issues.
- Creating and updating 3D CAD models, 2D drawings and other product support documents.
- Complete minor design modifications to create product extensions.
- Provide technical support throughout product life cycle.
- Complete cost reduction programs on assigned product lines.
- Communicate and work with marketing, sales, quality, and operations on product improvements.
Experience/Education Needed:
- Working knowledge of SolidWorks CAD system.
- Knowledge of materials (metals & plastics), manufacturing processes, and assembly design principles.
- Good understanding of Engineering Change processes and systems.
- Good work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Associate’s degree (Bachelor's preferred) in engineering or similar technical field.
- Minimum 3 years of related experience desired.
- Works well in a small team environment.
- Experience with Engineering data management systems (SolidWorks ePDM preferred).
Desired Skills:
- Medical device experience, connector and cable assembly experience and experience working with global design and manufacturing teams is a plus.
- Experience in supporting connectors and/or cable assemblies.
