Network Engineer
Job Responsibilities:
- Contribute to a team responsible for the operations of the Laboratory's enterprise classified networks.
- Assist in the day-to-day role of supporting the network infrastructure, which will include configuring and maintaining routers, switches, firewalls, and other networking devices within the classified environment.
- Apply troubleshooting and analytical skills to assist with the diagnosis and resolution of network issues.
- Evaluate network hardware for STIG compliance.
- Support network architecture, configuration, management, and optimization activities.
- Conduct testing of network systems.
- Prepare and maintain appropriate network documentation, including operational instructions.
- Evaluate and report on network technologies to enhance network capabilities.
Skills:
- Currently holds a Secret Clearance (OR a higher clearance) — Required.
- Network Application Development (e.g. socket programming) — 5 years.
- General Dynamics Type 1 Encryptors — 5 years.
- Configuration and Management of Cisco, Juniper, and Palo Alto — 5 years.
- Network Architecture — 5 years.
- Networking experience (routers/switches/firewalls/servers) — 5 years.
- Network Systems Analysis — 5 years.
- Optimization of Distribution Networks — 5 years.
- Networking Applications and Protocols: TCP/IP, DNS, NTP, DHCP, SSH, FTP, BGP and OSPF.
- Experience configuring and maintaining network infrastructure within a classified environment.
- Basic understanding of troubleshooting and analytical skills to assist with the diagnosis and resolution of network issues.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree — Required
