Job Summary
SummaryResponsible for assisting in preparing and cooking food items in specific sections or stations within the kitchen. Does this position require Patient Care
No Essential Functions
-Prepare and cook food items according to standardized recipes portion sizes and quality standards. -Assist at a specific station or section within the kitchen such as grill sauté pantry or pastry. -Utilize a variety of cooking techniques such as grilling frying baking roasting and sautéing to prepare dishes. -Assist in the execution of menu items ensuring that dishes are prepared accurately consistently and with attention to detail. -Follow proper food safety and sanitation practices to ensure a clean and hygienic working environment. -Keep workstations equipment and utensils clean organized and sanitized.
Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent required and Trade/Technical/Vocational Diploma Culinary Arts preferred
Yes Licenses and Credentials Experience
Line Cook or Related Experience 1-2 years preferred Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of various cooking methods knife skills seasoning and flavor profiles.
- Understanding of food safety principles including proper food handling storage temperature control and hygiene practices.
- Ability to work efficiently and manage time effectively.
- Good communication skills for working in a team-oriented kitchen environment.
- Ability to handle the physical demands of the job including lifting heavy objects and working with kitchen equipment.
- Ability to adapt to changing circumstances handle high-pressure situations and solve problems on the spot.
