Registered Nurse (RN) Critical Care (Nights)

Location - Pittsfield, MA

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse specializing in Critical Care to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in critical care settings and demonstrate exceptional clinical skills. This role requires a compassionate approach to patient care, strong communication abilities, and the capacity to work effectively in high-pressure environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in accordance with established protocols and standards.
• Monitor patients' vital signs, administer medications, and perform necessary medical procedures such as IV infusion, suturing, and airway management.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including triage and diagnostic evaluations.
• Maintain accurate medical documentation and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, medication administration, and post-discharge care.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to NCQA standards for patient care.
• Support the management of acute pain, infection control measures, and emergency interventions as needed.

Experience
Candidates should possess the following qualifications:

• Critical care experience in a Level I or Level II trauma center is preferred.
• Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner is advantageous.
• Experience in various nursing specialties including but not limited to pediatrics, geriatrics, hospice & palliative medicine, emergency medicine, and internal medicine.
• Proficiency in medical terminology, patient assessment techniques, and basic life support protocols.
• Knowledge of ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10) for accurate medical documentation.
• Experience working with diverse populations including individuals with developmental disabilities or those requiring memory care. Ideal candidates will also have skills in areas such as:
• Dialysis
• Catheterization
• Phlebotomy
• Ventilator management
• Specimen collection/processing
• Pain management techniques
