Position Summary
We are looking for an empathetic and proactive Paraprofessional to join our school-based team in Walpole, Massachusetts for the upcoming school year. This contract position focuses on supporting students who require extra guidance, encouragement, and structure to thrive in their daily academic schedules. You will serve as an essential bridge between the students, the curriculum, and the lead educators.
Core Responsibilities
Encourage student engagement by modifying activities or repeating instruction to match individual learning styles.
Assist students with physical, emotional, or behavioral needs, ensuring they can safely navigate the school environment.
Collaborate daily with Special Education teachers, speech therapists, and administrators to track student goals.
Help maintain a structured, organized classroom routine to maximize learning time.
Assist with data collection regarding academic milestones or behavioral patterns.
Requirements
Completed at least two years of college study (48 credit hours), hold an Associate’s degree (or higher), or pass the ParaPro Assessment.
Prior experience supporting children with special needs or behavioral challenges is a major plus.
A calm demeanor and excellent conflict-resolution skills.
Ability to pass all required Massachusetts state fingerprinted background screenings.
