Position Title: Machine Operator – Wind-Up Department
Job Type: Full-time
Pay Rate: $19.00 – $21.00 per hour
Expected Hours: 40 hours per week
Shift: Various shifts available (12 hours) Mid week or weekend shifts available.
Overview:
Seeking reliable individuals to operate and tend to turning machines (wind-up) in a controlled manufacturing environment. This position involves handling plastic materials on large spindles, ensuring correct layer counts, labeling, weighing, and stacking finished rolls.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify accurate layer counts on each roll
- Legibly stamp core labels
- Manually remove rolls from spindles, weigh them, and stack in designated containers
- Monitor and replace full containers (Gaylords) and ensure supply of empty ones
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area
- Follow all safety protocols and company procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED required)
- 0–2 years of relevant manufacturing or machine operation experience
- Basic knowledge of production processes and quality control standards
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Good hand-eye coordination; must be comfortable using box cutters and other sharp tools
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Must wear PPE (e.g., safety glasses, hair nets) at all times on the floor
Working Environment:
- Indoor factory setting
- Climate-controlled and ventilated
- Exposure to machinery, mechanical parts, loud noise, dust, vibration, and manufacturing chemicals
