The data science engineer is responsible for developing automated tools and data products to enhance AI capabilities and designing efficient, business-friendly analytics solutions. They focus on creating scalable, self-service systems to support the AI team's expansion. Additionally, they leverage their extensive knowledge in data analytics and technology to educate and improve the skills of others. **Position Responsibilities:** _Provide data subject matter expertise_ + Responsible for understanding the systems & data environment. + Research, explore, and tinker with new data design ideas and related technologies. + Collaborate with internal/external data experts. + Research & leverage technical documentation to gain a holistic understanding of the data domain. _Support Analytics projects_ + Work with data scientists to transform business requests into value-add data products and capabilities. + Work closely with business teams and data scientists to collaboratively assess, understand, improve, and deliver rich data content for analysis. + Assist in the development the conceptual/logical data models or semantic layers with appropriate business contexts. + Automate, re-build, and re-imagine data processes to increase efficiencies in business processes. + Tactical support of project activities: data access, understanding, engineering, visualization, and decision making. _Elevate data and analytics skills in the business_ + Help businesspeople better understand the use of data and automation, drawing on a thorough understanding of and experience with technologies for intelligent automation, data modeling, data management, etc. + Identify and guide natural data champions in the business to enhance the profitable use of data. + Learn salient business concepts from data champions and enable them to creatively use data technologies. **Required Qualifications:** + 7+ years' of Data Science experience + Advanced experience with databases. + Advanced Experience in Python, SQL, Spark, C#, etc. + Advanced Experience in automating data pipelines and working with data transformation tools. + Advanced experience working with internal business contacts to develop analytical reports. + Advanced experience with cloud technologies, particularly Azure, and Data as a Service (DaaS).University degree in quantitative based field (e.g. Mathematics, Physics, and Engineering). **Preferred Qualifications:** + Experience providing data analysis to support management decisions. + General knowledge of data analytics theory & application. + Experience with analytics tools and visualization tools a plus. **_When you join our team:_** + We'll empower you to learn and grow the career you want. + We'll recognize and support you in a flexible environment where well-being and inclusion are more than just words. + As part of our global team, we'll support you in shaping the future you want to see. \#LI-Hybrid **Acerca de Manulife y John Hancock** Manulife Financial Corporation es un importante proveedor internacional de servicios financieros que ayuda a las personas a tomar decisiones de una manera más fácil y a vivir mejor.
