Location Description:The Boston Harbor Hotel is Boston’s premier waterfront hotel, where luxury service is personal. Overview:JOB SUMMARY
This position will ensure the standards and procedures are constantly applied, to ensure employee and guest satisfaction. The ideal candidate would enjoy leading and developing employees and working in a fast paced environment. The Housekeeping Supervisor will ensure that all guest needs are met during service, while maintaining cleanliness and consistency.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Experience:
Must have at least two (2) or more years of progressive Hospitality experience, with previous experience in a Luxury Environment preferred, or other related/equivalent field may be considered.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities for the Housekeeping Supervisor include but are not limited to:
- Inspect and oversee all assigned guestrooms and guest floors, both occupied and vacant.
- Ensure all general cleaning, preparation for VIP's, early arrivals and special cleaning requests are done on time and according to standard by the team.
- Perform regular inspections of guestrooms, hallways and public areas to ensure cleanliness and consistency.
- Work closely with Engineering to report any maintenance deficiencies and action items in a timely manner.
- Assist Housekeepers with daily work flow, ensuring timeliness and completion of guest rooms.
- Work closely with the Front Desk on group arrivals, late service rooms and late checkouts, while keeping priority of all guestrooms.
- Ensure all equipment and supplies are used appropriately, and in accordance with Safety and Security standards, and procedures are being followed by the team.
- Train new employees to ensure all guestrooms are properly stocked, organized and maintained, while monitoring daily to ensure standards of service and cleanliness are followed.
- Respond to guest inquiries in a timely manner.
- Complete all special projects as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
In addition to performance of key responsibilities and supportive functions, this position may be required to possess a combination of the following skills and experiences:
- Requires a working knowledge of Hospitality as well as luxury core standards, and standard operating procedures.
- Ability to effectively lead and work cohesively as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, along with demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced work environment.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to exercise sound logic and judgment in evaluating situations and utilizing appropriate resources.
- Superior time management and task prioritization.
- Ability to handle multiple and changing priorities in professional manner
- Ability to communicate effectively in the English language both verbally and in writing. A second language is desirable.
