University Accountant

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Process and reconcile over $60 million in daily payments: checks, wires, student and family contributions
  • Open, sort, and manage incoming mail and checks; direct to appropriate channels
  • Investigate misrouted payments (ex: incorrect wire transfers) and resolve issues directly
  • Maintain accurate reports and records for student accounts and tuition transactions
  • Work independently with minimal oversight while handling confidential student financial data

Requirements:

  • 2–3 years of experience in Accounts Receivable or payment reconciliation
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to spot discrepancies in high-volume transactions
  • Comfort working with confidential student financial data

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with Ellucian Banner or other financial/ERP systems
  • Experience working in a university, education, or nonprofit finance environment
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
