Speech Language Pathologist

The Speech-Language Pathologist consults with the Interdisciplinary Teams (IDT) to provide the best plan of coordinated speech/swallowing services for the participants. This position is full time M-F 8am to 4pm. Float position between Methuen, Lowell and Brighton sites.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Conducts initial Speech therapy evaluations and screens, develops individual treatment plans, implements appropriate interventions, and treats as appropriate.
  • Coordinates speech/swallowing services as they relate to direct patient care.
  • Records required documentation timely and per Organizational policy.
  • Prepares for and participates in pre-enrollment, care planning, debriefing, staff meetings and discharge planning. Attends family meetings as necessary.
  • Performs cognitive, linguistic, and swallowing evaluations as referred by the medical team.
  • Conducts education and training for the participant, family, and caregivers regarding speech therapy treatment.
  • Assists with the development of policies, procedures and applicable workflows.
  • Frequently contributes to the development and implementation of new ideas and methods.
  • Exercises significant independent judgment to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives.
  • Ability to pass a fit test. Position requires mask where seal is critical. Incumbent is required to not have facial hair that interferes with a tight seal of the respirator.
  • Frequent local travel.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Job Specification:

  • Master’s degree in SLP from an accredited college or university
  • Current Massachusetts SLP license
  • Minimum of one (1) year of healthcare or clinical experience working with the elderly
  • Ability to demonstrate professionalism, initiative, good judgment and effective decision-making; exhibit strong process improvement orientation
  • Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Advanced computer skills (Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
  • Covid vaccines required.
