**GSE Mechanic - Aviation Ground Support | Boston, MA | Contract-to-Hire**
**We're seeking experienced GSE Mechanics to support expanding airport operations in Boston. This is a great opportunity to work in a dynamic aviation environment with strong potential for growth and advancement.**
**What You'll Do:**
As a Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Mechanic, you'll perform preventative maintenance and repairs on essential airport equipment such as baggage carts, deicing units, and more. You'll troubleshoot and repair diesel, gas, and LP engines, electrical systems (AC/DC), hydraulic systems, and powertrain management systems.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Perform light and heavy repairs on GSE equipment
+ Diagnose and repair mechanical issues (Diesel, Gas, LP)
+ Troubleshoot AC/DC electrical systems and read schematics
+ Repair hydraulic systems and interpret flow schematics
+ Work with 400 Hz and 28V generators, 80V/48V DC systems, and Airstart systems
+ Use diagnostic software for powertrain systems
+ Complete repair orders accurately and maintain productivity
+ Participate in ongoing training and development
**What You Bring:**
+ 5+ years of mechanical testing and troubleshooting experience
+ Strong diesel background (automotive/diesel mix welcome)
+ Electrical troubleshooting expertise
+ Ability to read schematics (electrical & hydraulic)
+ Own a rolling toolbox with basic tools (no tool bags)
+ Valid driver's license and ability to pass airport background check
+ Vocational training or equivalent experience

**Work Environment:**
Work in a **covered hangar workspace** -heated in winter, cooled in summer-with a collaborative team of mechanics. Larger projects are handled at an off-site location with similar conditions.

**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Boston, MA.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $30.50 - $33.50/hr.
